freedom of speech ?

In the media the issue of freedom of expression has been framed as a clash between two camps - one for freedom of expression, and the other against  it. However, the real clash is not between those who are for and those who are against this freedom. Rather it is between two different freedoms. On the one hand is the freedom to insult. guarding against civil strife

Islamic history has seen, and continues to see, its fare share of 'fitnah', civil strife and war. But a believer is required to do his or her utmost not to fan the flames of civil strife, let alone shed blood. The rest is up to Allah.

Happiness is that elusive state of mind that is pursued and desired by everyone. The perception of a good life by many is a life of pleasure, in which you get what you want and want what you get. Hence the acquisition of wealth is considered to bring happiness to its owner. But happiness is an activity of the soul in accordance with virtue. Hence only the virtuous are happy.
